Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3 is a synthetic protein combined with palmitic acid to make it more easily dissolve in lipids, to improve its stability and to enhance its compatibility with human skin.

Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3 can communicate with a cell and program it to do specific things, including repair work. It signals the lower layers of the skin to rebuild themselves, by producing cells known as fibroblasts, which accelerate wound healing. This is important, since the aging process causes these fibroblasts to lose their ability to produce enough collagen. By creating this response, collagen and elastin fibroblasts production is stimulated, enhancing the skin’s matrix and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
